Soooo I melted a section of my MidwayUSA range bag onto my SDN-6.
What is the best way to clean this off without roughing up the suppressor?

WD maybe.
Or just start dumping rounds till it burns off and own it.
Mine was a strip of rubber from on of my shooting mats

I'm telling you now, more than likely your suppressor will never look like new again...just getting the material off it still leaves discoloration...i just keep shooting it after it happened, smells terrible at first, but each time there is a little more that flakes off...it happens bro, if you want it to be "new-looking" again, prob gonna need cerakote...

Yep. The only thing that will never look used, is something that isn't, just how it goes.BadKarmaZeroSix wrote:I'm telling you now, more than likely your suppressor will never look like new again...just getting the material off it still leaves discoloration...i just keep shooting it after it happened, smells terrible at first, but each time there is a little more that flakes off...it happens bro, if you want it to be "new-looking" again, prob gonna need cerakote...

I had melted carpet stuck to mine once. A rag, Butch's Bore Shine, and a little elbow grease got it right off with no discoloration.

I don't care how it looks. I might have kept shooting it at the time under the "hey maybe it will melt off" theory but it happened as I was carrying everything out. I had the rifle slung because I just finished and wasn't about to stick it into my bag (last time I bring that rifle in via a bag lol) and didn't have anything heat resistant enough to do much else. I was very careful not to burn myself but carrying the rifle bag, range bag, and slung rifle + exchanging stuff over the counter, I slipped up and let the can press into the bag.
I'm also hesitant to just let it burn back off because my only immediate easy access range is indoors...
Don't know what butch's bore shine is but I'll look into that

Just use Hoppe's or whatever you have on hand.
Re: Cleaning melted range bag off outside of suppressor?
It isn't too bad...guess it won't be much of an issue except some smell. I give it a little generic cleaner and rag later.

3 or 4 mags dumps and it will be up in smoke

My SDN6 paperwork says it was finished with Molyresin, the John Norell stuff. Its way easier to apply than cerakote. I have done lots of projects with Molyresin, but leave my SDN6 in its authentic scratched and dented state. As indicated above, it wont roll off the shooting bench unless it has a nice new finish on it.
