So i just got home from the SHOT show. I think i need a 22lr can to augment my SDN-6.
Anybody care to chime in with what they think is the best can for 22LR? Pistol and rifle use... No full auto.
Weight is my biggest criteria. Followed by ease of disassemble/cleaning
I looked at AAC, YHM and Silenseco cans at the show
22 cans??

Sparrow. A superior design. Take apart with no tools.
Re: 22 cans??
Spectre II - I like mine better than my Sparrow.
I dislike the first round pop from the Sparrow and it doesn't seem to be any quieter than the Spectre II.

I have a YHM Mite. It is very quiet, comes apart easily with the included tool.

All of the above PLUS the CTA baffles keep the inside of the tube from getting fouled.emerson wrote:Spectre II - I like mine better than my Sparrow.

Re: 22 cans??
I've got a Liberty Essence being held captive down at the Silencer Shop in Austin. It looked like the best option for lightness and quietness on paper, and comparing all the ones they had in the show case when I visited. At the rate the ATF is going, I won't get to see it again until the summer, but I did get to test fit it on my Ruger SR22 pistol when I bought it. The weight was not really even noticeable, so I know I'm going to be happy in that regard.paper9 wrote:Liberty Essence if you can find one...

I don't collect firearms; they just accumulate...

Re: 22 cans??
Sparrow, Sparrow........and.......Sparrow !!!!
I get to vote 3 times cuz I have 3 of them.
The monolithic battle stack protected by clam shells is an
excellent and innovative idea. Easily serviceable by the
end user. First round "pop" is noticeable but not that bad.
It can be completely negated by few drops of wire pulling
gel.
Cans that have innovation to keep their inner sleeves clean
and heads and shoulders above everything else in my book.
The Spectre II click together baffles to a good job, but not
as good as the Sparrow in my opinion. If I couldn't have my
Sparrows then I would opt for the Spectre II.

Re: 22 cans??
As other guys have said before me... SWR Spectre II!
I like it better than my Sparrow. Quieter cold shot and easy to break apart for cleaning.
