I am looking into getting a suppressor that will work with my SBR 300 Blackout rifle, 308 rifle, and 5.56 rifle. I am considering the YHM Titanium 7.62, AAC SDN-6, and Gemtech Quicksand. The Quicksand model is the threaded version, since I can't seem to find the QD version. Is the QD versions really worth the extra money?
Which of those suppressors do you recommend that would work with all those platforms?
Thank you.

The threaded version of the QuickSand is called the SandStorm. Its an excellent
suppressor. I bought the QuickSand because I move the suppressor between two
host SBR's on a regular basis. I use it on both my 12" SBR's in 6.8 and 300BLK.
Re: Another what Suppressor Thread
I really like my SAS arbiter Ti. It's a thread on over muzzle brake or flash hider. When I bought it, they didn't have the Reaper, which is shorter. Mine is 9" long and also does great on my 300 win mag. The Reaper is 7", also rated for 300 win mag. Obviously the longer can does better with sound suppression but I'm sure that the Reaper is great for .308 and really good for BLK.
I was concerned about the thin thread pitch to attach the can to the break/FH, but they have held up great. I constantly, almost daily, move my can from rifle to rifle. I use one rifle for my 'get home bag' and another for home defense. I've had the can for over two years. The Titanium is definitely the way to go what ever brand you go with. The cost is well worth it. Even with an SBR, the weight savings is nice.
Can't say enough about how happy I am with mine. Milehighshooting.com in Colorado is great to deal with. They are a busy shop but just keep at it, they are great.

I use a Mystic (LibertyCans) on those cartridges, though I only shoot subsonic in the 308.

I chose it because it comes apart and I use it also for 22 LR and 357 Mag and 357 Max cast-bullet loads, as well as 9mm sometimes cast-bullet too. Makes for easy cleaning. Mostly I use it on my 300 Blk guns though, and so far always jacketed bullets there.
The Mystic is not rated for full-house 308 Winchester though.

I put $ down on the SWR Specwar 762. It performs nicely and will not become loose under heavy firing with their technology. Checkout it's dB on youtube.
Re: Another what Suppressor Thread
I am waiting on a YHM Phantom Ti QD. It seems our criteria for a rifle suppressor are similar.
I have several rifles from .223 to .308 with 300 BLK and others in between. I wanted to buy one can to do it all as my funding is limited. Thread on cans, while cheaper, were not practical for this. I needed QD over a flash suppressor. Using thread over means thread adapters (many people have problems with them breaking) and no flash suppression if I don't have the can on. I do not have any magnum calibers.
SWR Specwar: Heavy at 24oz. Longer than most at 9". Still not readily available nor are the flash suppressors. Meters better than most other cans, sweet QD design, magnum capable if I ever got a hotter 308 gun. Lower cost. Outstanding customer service (have have other SWR/SilencerCo cans)
YHM Phantom Ti: Light, owners report a lower tone making it sound better, meters well(db), cheaper for Ti, 1/2" shorter than most, cheaper QD mounts and readily available cans and mounts.
Gemtech Qucksand: Expensive, mixed reviews on performance (people either love em or hate em), mounts and cans have mixed availability
SAS: Light, meters well (db), affordable for Ti, only available through one distributor, no QD for flash suppressors only breaks, not available at the moment, magnum caliber capable
AAC SDN: Made with the 300 blk in mind. Heavy, expensive for being a heavy can, mixed reviews on the 51t QD mounting system
Surefire: I can't afford them. The rest doesn't matter.
So when I had the $, I looked over my evaluations above and picked the lighter and readily available Phantom Ti. Now I wait and wait and wait. Specwar was my second choice. It would have been cheaper than the Phantom and more effective plus I really liked the QD system and was willing to trade that for the weight savings. They are not really available at the moment and the Phantom is so my decision was easy.

Re: Another what Suppressor Thread
Another SAS Ti Arbiter owner. Terrific can. Would happily buy another! (And probably will.)
Re: Another what Suppressor Thread
I am also a SAS Arbiter owner and love the suppresor. The only problem has been that I have referred several customers to my local dealer. Now the distributer for SAS "Mile High" will not answer his calls or provide documentation on the transfer process. One suppressor inparticular was ordered from them March of 2012 and has never arrived or recieved dealer to dealer approval. Seems to me that the process was never started at Mile Hight. This was much better when I dealt with the owner of SAS directly. Mile High will definatly hurt the business of SAS as well as their reputation. Maybe someone else has botten better service from Mile Highe, but My local dealer has not.......

Check out Lane LLC Suppressors in Rapid City SD. Hard to beat their price on a full Ti can.
