300 Blk with 9 mm can

Post by AR-300 »

how effective would a 9mm suppressor be on the 300?
plan on using 220 grain subs
is it worth machining the adapter that would be needed?

I'm interested as well.

I've heard that pistol baffles are not really rated for rifle round but if you find one rated for FA you should be good to go. But, that's Internet talk. I'd like to hear from somebody that knows what they are talking about.

Semi auto, subsonic only, it works very well.

Just take care to not get the can too hot.

There are a handful of 5/8-24 to pistol can thread adaptors already available.

I just ordered a FN Herstal FNP Tactical 45 pistol and Silencerco 45 Osprey, I'm going to run the Osprey 45 on my 300 blackout sbr when it clears. Subs only of course.

Just took delivery of this adapter. This appears to be a one man operation but the owner is very responsive and the merchandise arrived very quickly.

I think it is pretty safe to use a pistol can with subsonics and a 16" bbl. I am not so sure about 12.5" and shorter. I would like to hear other people's experience. I will eventually acquire a 8" bbl. I am not so sure pressures will be low enough to be safe

I know the Silencerco 45 osprey is good on 300 blackout down to 8" I'm actually sending a 6.5" bbl to Silencerco to test the osprey on a 6.5" and if all goes good they will warranty the osprey down to 6.5" subs only.
