Peel washers ?

Post by DutchV »

I'm installing a muzzle brake to mount my Saker. Are these the peel washers to use? The usual places seem to be out of stock. McMaster is a safe bet, and I can get some other stuff in the box. (Or I could've gotten these in the last box, but oh well.)

Which mount are you using and does it need to be timed?

Whatever you do never ever use crush washers or anything like that.

I know Griffin sells them.

Thanks, I'll look at Griffin if I have to.

These aren't crush washers. I guess the right link would help - here's the 1/2" size:

Here's the specs from Thunder Beast, look like the one you linked are close.

OUTSIDE DIAMETER 0.840-0.845"
INITIAL THICKNESS OF APPROX 0.048-0.055"
LAYER THICKNESS APPROX 0.002"
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.

Yup, that would do it.

I think I'd prefer the shorter layers ( .002" ) of the peel washer. I'm trying to do things right the first time, for once.
