Other than reducing flash, sound and recoil while increasing accuracy and speed of follow up shots, I can't think of a reason.elitejake wrote: Supers are factory what ever flavor I find cheep. I don't shoot much supersonic. Why build a suppressed upper to shoot supersonic rounds threw it?

Re: Trapping too much gas?
True those are benefits. But a stupid quiet gun is at home being quiet in my mind.
Yes I'll shoot supers threw it but not many.
My question goes to my next build tho.
What can Or setup? I have only the one I have now as a base line for info. I'll be doing a integral suppressed 9mm ar also

When those totally ignorant of firearms make laws, you end up with totally ignorant firearm laws.

Re: Trapping too much gas?
Shooting suppressed is just filthy.
Some powder is dirtier than others.
In a short barrel you might not be getting a full burn.
Having lived with a sealed can; DONT!!!

Re: Trapping too much gas?
The first suppressor that I designed and built was a sealed can.
Though it's mainly for bullets up to and including 30-06. Lots of pressures there to keep the crap blown out of it.
Here's a borescope shot of it after the first 10 years, which during that time has seen many many thousands of rounds of everything from 22lr, 6.8spc, blackout, 7.62x39, 223, 30-30, and a host of others in everything from bolt guns up to and including a lot of full auto 22lr and 9mm. Even the 22lr pretty much stays blown out of it.
These days though, I mainly build user cleanable cans, but my first one was built mainly as a universal can.
