Any particular match grade barrel preferred? I notice that Shilen is preferred for base stock. Thanks

In 2014 Daniel Horner used a Proof 16" carbon Fiber barrel

That is his wife's blog. It gives his gun specs.

In 2015 he started using a 14.5" Proof carbon fiber barrel.

Any competition that someone would want to use 300 Blackout instead of .223?
3 gun?

Not really. The 300 is going to give you more recoil than a 223 and it is more expensive to shoot.

I guess you should tell Daniel Horner he shouldn't have been using 300 Blackout

My 11.3" stainless Wilson Combat barreled SBR is also very accurate.

16" Carbine 300 Blackout is 26 oz. If they do a 8 inch around 13 oz then I would on board.
Edit: talking about proof barrels

My 8" stainless is something like 17 oz. and could be a lighter profile. My 12.5 is 24 oz. Remember that the extension and chamber will be the most weight. So that 8" Proof will likely be around 15 oz.

Xcaliber barrels is another good choice, I have three of their barrels all are MOA capable, generally closer to half. They are custom cut and start around $250.
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.
