Stage 1 “Fully Engaged” was one of those high round count blaster-style courses where the heavy guns aren’t supposed to be able to compete. Apparently Austria didn’t get the memo, because he took it by storm, posting the fastest score with his 300 Blackout carbine.
We saw similar results across the course, with the heavy guns keeping pace with the theoretically faster .223s For example, Stage 2 “Run the Table,” featured an unloaded table start that justly rewarded competitors with well developed rifle handling skills . . . . Joseph Austria also took this stage by storm . . .
