Somebody needs to post that link on the 6.8 forum, showing what a miserable failure the round is.

It just does not matter any more. The cartridge is proven. I am sure those three days of shooting were pretty brutal. Speed, reliability, capacity, and accuracy matters.

It was enough to stabilize the bullets they were using and they probably could quickly get 1:12 30 caliber blanks. They would not be shooting any subsonic, so it seems like the right thing to do for a pure competition rifle.

The article says 155 gr bullets.....would love to know the recipe!

We followed the AMU squad at Nats and 3 of the 4 shooters shooting 300blackout went minor at the chrono. Obviously Daniel made major but Tyler, Matt, and Johnathan all went minor.

Given the amount of ammo they had on hand it was obvious they had several loadings so my assumption is that making the 320pf with the blackout is difficult at this time????

Can anyone shed some light on this?

This is not true and no one shooting 300 BLK went minor. Making major with BLK is not difficult at all. 175 grain Sierra, loaded to 2.245 OAL, Rem brass and primer, 20.0 grains of A1680 powder, 330 PF, 55,000 psi, 1900 fps - 16 inch barrel.

Actually it is true, you can check the results page and see that Matt was moved from Heavy Metal to Open because of it. My intent was not to be argumentative, but to ask about loadings at Major PF. Not only with 175's but with other bullet weights as well, while staying within the saami specs. Particularly whether major is possible with 125's. I ask because this information seems to be in short supply vs all the load information for subsonics.
