Stolen NFA items

Just got off the phone with my wife who informed me that her glock 35 MOS and evo9 silencer were stolen from her apartment in Baltimore, MD.
This ought to be interesting!

ETA
7/28 Police report filed with a patrol officer, awaiting followup from investigators. Still nothing from ATF

8/6
No followup from BPD or ATF as of yet. However BPD was back this evening to take report of the wife's car being broken into in front of here apartment last night resulting in the theft of gun #2. Coincidence? I think not.

8/11
I finally got to speak with the Detectives assigned to the case and not long after my conversation with them, they showed up unannounced at the wife's to take my son and his "friend" in for questioning. Upon their return, the detective told my wife they know my son was not involved but do believe the "friend" was and will be following up with the other 2 guys the "freind" brought with him to the apartment the first gun disappeared.
Momma had a come to Jesus sit down with our son, hopefully it opens his eyes a little about how some people can be.

The wife sent me a pic of the damage to the cab of her truck caused by the thieves trying to pry the door open before breaking the window

OUCH.

Keep us informed, I hope the process is at least sensible. Then again it's Baltimore.

Really sorry to hear that.

I thought all handgun transfers in MD required a background check.

Sorry to hear it, cert. That sucks.

Notify BPD & ATF and go from there. The worst part for me is the fact that my wife is going to have to deal with this without me there

Hopefully it wasn't her only handgun in Baltimore. All kidding aside, I hate to hear this.

It was not. I had her make sure that her g26 was still there.

Local ATF agents response to my wife's phone call to notify them of the theft of the silencer was...
Why are you calling us? Report it to PD and they will notify us.

What! I am reporting the theft of an NFA regulated item and you don't care! FML
I going to the garage to convert a couple ak's to FA, have a nice day
All kidding aside
My biggest worry is not that some hoodrat stole the stuff, probably already used it in a couple drive bys and then passed it off to some other hoodrat, I am here worried if I properly researched the laws and did not ignorantly set my wife up for a prison sentence.

I know of two people locally who have guns stolen with suppressors. Both said the ATF pretty much responded the same way. It was like they were being inconvenienced by the phone call. Supposedly if you report a full auto stolen they you get their attention.
