1 last question (I Hope)
All paper work done foe 3 SBRs then I thought about caliber 4c. Will it fail if I just put 762 or 556 or does it need to be 7.62 or 5.56 with period. Let me know which is correct or wrong. Thanks.

Oh yea, Happy 4th to all.
Re: 1 last question (I Hope)
Best to use 7.62 or .223. However, I don't think that they care so much there, given that they ask for a caliber..
Cheers!
Cheers!

.308 or .223 are the official calibers. I assume you are filling paper forms, but the eform has separate drop down boxes for caliber and mm
I don't think it matters, people put all kind of strange stuff in there. I've seen some people put "300". Whatever that means.... Technically.308 is the most correct thing to put there for a 300 blackout.

Re: 1 last question (I Hope)
So not to hijack this thread but I just submitted a Form 1 Efile on a couple of SBR's and (1) was an AR Lower and I put in 5.56 and used the "Caliber" as the drop down when it probably should have been "MM. Will this be likely rejected?
Re: 1 last question (I Hope)
They used to have eForms bulletins several years ago. Caliber numbers were addressed back in Sept 2013:
Calibers in NFA
NFA uses only the ‘base’ caliber for describing an NFA firearm and no ‘.’ to start. For example, we use ‘22’ rather than ‘.22,’ ’22LR,’ .22 WIN,’ etc. Similarly, we use ‘300’ rather than ‘300,’ ‘300 Blackout,’ ‘300 AAC Blackout,’ etc.
For metric descriptions, we do include the ‘.’ when it is internal to the ‘base’ caliber, such as ‘5.56’ or ‘7.62,’ but we do not use the further description to the caliber such as ‘5.56x45’ or ‘7.62x39’ for example.
