Getting suppressor close as possible to rail. Whats your setup?

Post by Djstorm100 »

I like these setups as I just think they look really cool. In the process of getting parts for SBr build for when my stamp comes back. What is your setup and how much space is there in between the rail and can?

I'm looking at the KMR rail as I have it on 3 other rifles. The issue is the kmr flares out at the end. So I'm wanting to make sure my measurements are spot or I may have to take Mr. Dremel to the handguard. Which of course is something I don't want to do.

I've found a 11.3 inch barrel with a 10" KMR works

My closest is a KAK 11" 5.56mm barrel with a Midwest Industries 10.5" handguard. It has the Silencerco Trifecta mount for my Specwar suppressor. I wish all of mine were like that. It doesn't bother me too much if there is a little clearance, but I would like it to be flush.

I run a rifle length PRI handguard with a 10.5" Noveske Barrel, A.R.M.S. #38 SPR PEQ 2-4 Swan Sleeve SPR Rail, and a TBAC 30P-1 suppressor.
The suppressor is recessed into the handguard about 5 inches and almost has an MP5-SD appearance to the barrel.

This is the image that inspired that build:

For my 300BLK, I have a 9" BCM barrel under an 8" KMR. Plenty of room with a Saker 762. We just finished a 300 upper for a buddy who used a 10.2" Noveske under a 9" KMR also with plenty of clearance.

Here is the 9" BCM under 8" KMR:

Low profile gas block, handguard with 1.8" inside diameter and 12 inches long, swallows my suppressors.

Handguards usually come in 7 inch, 9 inch, 12 inch lengths as standard, though there are some out there that will cover 15, 16 inches of barrel.

Also forgot about pistol length handguards. Unsure how long they are. 4 inches possibly??

I just like the integral/tuber/Schalldämpfer look.

8.5" barrel, 8 inch suppressor, 12 inch forend. Works for me.

John A., that is basically my set up. The Seekins MCSR (or the same thing made by Seekins for Radical Arms or Heads Down or Primary Arms) with the 1.8 ID works great with a SBR to nest the suppressor under. I think I've got a 12" on my 9.5" 300BLK upper and the 15" on my Leonidas. Hell, I've got the same rails in some form or fashion on all of my ARs.

The Seekins/ Primary Arms MCSR is on sale at PA for $90.
