Form 1 Approved...kinda?

Post by 2manyToys »

I received notification via email on May 4th that my (E-filed) Form 1 was finally approved. The email included a PDF of the signed form complete with tax stamp.....and a waterwark on the form that reads "DRAFT". Is this typical? Is it supposed to be folled with a snail mail hard copy? I enquired via email, but have not heard back. I'm confused.

Nope, that is all you get. The whole e-forms thing was to cut down on paperwork. I've got 2 x Form1 e-filings and 1 x Form4 e-filing and all I ever received was the PDF files.

They should not be watermarked as Draft. Not sure if you can respond to the email and ask about that but mine did not have that draft on them.

I have read of this happening before... short answer, yes that is all you will receive from the BATFE but no it should not be marked as a draft.

The email was a good call but I would get on the horn with the office first thing tomorrow when they open to get it straightened out.

I had the same thing Happen to me. It's a glitch in their system that they know about. Email the agent that signed it or leave a vm for them. They will correct it and resend the version without the word "draft" on it. Took 2 days to get mine back.

Email this guy at the ATF. He's supposedly a supervisor. He forwarded my email to the agent and it got corrected. Just explain your issue.

FYI Ted no longer helps people.

Log into the eforms. Go to "Ask the experts"
They will fix it and send you a new form without the draft on it. Common mistake by them.
Last time took 2 days for the new one to be sent to me.
