Yep.

Looks like it was taking too long for gov't to get their approvals.

Now, they have a separate "gov't" NFA branch to speed things up.

This may be faster for Dealer to Dealer (F3's), but I don't think it's going to help civvies very much.

I have yet to see any gov't agency "reform" itself where a noticeable improvement is actually made, but we shall see.

"The duties of the NFA GSB include processing SOT applications, government transfers, exemptions, and expediting LEO/Gov requests."

No part of that quote says, "it will help speed up John Doe's gun trust or individual submission." They are only improving govt and dealer submissions. Us avg Joe's are still gonna wait 8 months to a year.

Wouldn't removing those burdens from current branch effectively speed up the process since now they will not have to do the approvals for the above mentioned forms?

Swampdog, show me where they have hired or contracted extra workers for the other *NEW* branches.

Last I heard, gov't had a hiring freeze.

So, there will still be the same number of people processing paperwork as before. But now, will be assigned work differently between them so more attention is directed toward gov.

That's how I interpret the article.

John I remember seeing a pipeline plan at some point in the recent past for the nfa approvers. I can't remember exactly what the time line was but they had committed to bolstering their numbers.

If they prioritize govt, leo, industry, we will get the shaft.

You can "reorganize" a dog turd if you want. But it's still a dog turd.

Here is what I read.

two distinct new branches have been formed:

The Industry Processing Branch (NFA IPB) (which I assume is for F3's and such)
and the Government Support Branch (NFA GSB) (which is for gov't/LEO guns)

I just had 2 form 4's freed from prison, sent in 1 on 3/30 and will submit 1 per month for the next 3 months.
Reason being is that I believe wait times will shrink to around 5 months now that 6/16 forms are being approved and everyone stopped buying because they ran out of money or are waiting for HPA to be approved soon
From what I have read, the reorganization will primarily benefit F3 transfers as they are always given priority. We mere mortal are left to lap up the table scraps!

Yeah, this. All this amounts to is ATF confirming that some animals are more equal than others.
