Re: ultralight receivers
Man, so many awesome pieces popping up. Its making it really hard to keep saying "eh, four ARs is plenty..."
Re: ultralight receivers
Man definitely some cool stuff brewing. I did a lightweight build earlier this year (5.56) trying to keep it budget friendly. Basically, wanted a reliable range toy the wife could more easily carry and handle. Though my build isn't "extreme duty" it has done well so far (500ish round)
Final tally was just under $800 and 5.0 lbs with mag and optics, unloaded.

...polymer
Re: ultralight receivers
Ok, just making sure. I've got less barrel, less handguard, less optic, less optic mount and come in a bit over 5# with a mag in it. Seems polymer is the only way to break 5# with a ready to run setup and a mil spec reciprocating assembly.

What's the weight of you barrel and handguard?
Re: ultralight receivers
Never weighed them, but the barrel is a DD light profile 14.5" and the HG is an AP customs 9", which on second look is probably the same one you're running.
Pretend the optic is a T-2 in a DD mount and that's how the rifle sits at a bit over 5#

Re: ultralight receivers
I'm running:
Faxon 16" pencil 1.2lbs
AIM lightweight BCG
AP 9" (same as you)
Slick side Anderson sport upper
Thread protector (soon to be SiCo FH)
Polymer LPK
Also running SLR gas block to help mitigate recoil and tune the lighter BCG.
Nice looking build! I love the minimalist stock.
