New Hornady Bullets

Post by 1slow01Z71 »

Lot of nice newer high BC bullets for us long range shooters but the new 110gr GMX with an ogive profile that looks tailor made for the 300blk is interesting.

looks like it might be right on the edge of the expansion threshold of the blackout though. the video for it shows 3400-2000 fps "terminal performance" which im guessing means the expansion velocity?

I like how Hornady took the 300 Blackout line and slapped a new box on it and now call it their "new" TAP ammunition

It's like a kick in the pants with a pat on the back. The subtle subtext is all the A-max bullets you have now aren't as good as they once told you. The tips melt in flight and the BC drops off. But never fear we have the new and improved solution!!!

Once you get over that it's all good news. I've always hated the fact that hunting bullets weren't very accurate and match bullets weren't very good for hunting. Now there's going to be one bullet that does it all. Sounds like a dream come true.

A little bit pricey at $34.41 per 20 box (loaded) for the GMX Full Boar 110 Grain.

Glad to see Hornady taking a bigger step into the "mono-core" projectiles. Hopefully, depending on field results will give handloaders an alternative to the mono-core projectiles offered by Barnes.

I have loaded the GMX in .308, they were accurate but I didn't have to worry about performance at a slower velocity like we will with the 300BO.

Retail price listed on Hornady's website for the 110gn GMX is $44.61 for a box of 50 (projectiles only!)!! Ouch!!

good looking bullets. but for the price and because my shots are usually under 100 yds I'll pass. I'll stick to the 125 gr. SST for the Black Out and the 150 gr. Interlocks for the '06 & .308.

Only 34.95 a box?! Gosh, Thanks Hornady!!! It feels like Christmas to get something at a higher price than what we already have on the market from other manufacturers.

Can we please get the 174 GR 7.62x54R bullet back now?

I always wondered what the BC would be on the Barnes 110 if it had a slight boat tail. Well, there ya have it.
