I just picked up a DDM4 ISR and waiting on the paperwork to go through. I am currently in the market for my optic and trying to decide which route to go. With this optic would you be able to sight it in with one type of round at a given distance (say supersonic at 100yds or whatever) and the hold overs work with supersonic and subsonic without resighting to the type of round you are about to shoot? Meaning you could switch between sub and super and just use the correct holdover accordingly.

A man of few but ALWAYS choice words!! :D

Does anybody know what they used for their Supersonic data?? bullet and muzzle velocity?
It states "The reticle drops are based on an average of commonly available off-the-shelf subsonic and supersonic ammunition from a 16" barrel."
I presume Barnes VOR-TX or another LOADED 110gr offering (Hornady (300 Whisper) 110gr VMAX, Nosler 110gr Varmageddon).
But, the Remington Match 125gr (SMK), Remington 130gr Hog Hammers AND my 125gr handloads certainly have a different (general) trajectory..especially when using IMR 4227 in a shorter barrel

Think I found my answer... http://www.theoutdoorwire.com/story//13 ... yxu8x2hz1p

"Utilizing standard 16 inch barrel velocities, the 300 AAC Blackout reticle is designed to be calibrated with supersonic (115 gr.) ammunition: Zero the scope at 100m using the center of the crosshair. The bottom tip of the crosshair serves as the 200m supersonic aiming point. The ballistic drop compensator (BDC) stadia lines represent the supersonic hold-overs for 300m, 400m, 500m and 600m. To aid in ranging, the width of the BDC stadia lines represent 19" at the specified distance.

After zeroing with supersonic ammunition, the top and bottom diamonds serve as the subsonic (220 gr.) aiming points for 50m and 100m respectively. The top diamond serves as the aiming point for targets from 0-50m."
