I had a few questions about this. Dillon says to only use the RT 1500 with their toolhead/die for converting 223-300 blk. Somewhere I read that this would void the warranty on the RT 1200?

Since your product is a two step process, is it less stress on the RT 1200 motor?

Also, I bought my RT 1200 and the Dillon 223 die together. To trim the brass down, do I need another blade on the RT or just put the RT1200 on your dies and go to work?

Thanks.

I recently built a machine that rough cuts the cases so there is only .020" to be trimmed from the case after final forming.

Video here

I used the GSI tool head and trim die (on the left) to final trim worked like a charm.

Yea, I saw your video on Enos also! I guess there is just no "easy" way to go about it. Pony up the $$$ for the equipment you want or build it yourself.......which, for me, would probably be cheaper paying someone else to design/setup/build than myself.

In the past, I have had a couple of projects where I spent too much money on and only realized it after the fact. Was it kind of fun? yes, cheaper.....NO! And.....it always seemed better in my head than the way I built it. Kind of reminds me of a quote, "A man has to realize his limitations!"

You are correct about the warranty on the RT1200. Our set up is less stress on the motor, but the main cause of failure we saw was over heating in the motor with the 1200. This can be solved by letting the motor cool down when you notice it is to hot. You can use the original insert that comes with the trimmer and it will work. The insert we sell online has a chip breaker and is better are making chips rather than long strings.
