What's the point of a solid copper bullet for subsonic loads? Traditional jacketed bullets, and cast bullets, are typically non-expanding anyway, so it's not like you're gaining anything in penetration. If anything, you want less penetration, not more.
Re: copperblackout.com 220 solid copper projectiles and ammo
I was wondering that too, and all I could come up with was maybe they're useful in lead-free areas.

Similar to Lehigh, it appears they are designed to expand at subsonic velocities.yondering wrote:What's the point of a solid copper bullet for subsonic loads? Not the solid bullets. The hollow point version makes sense, the solid does not, except maybe in lead-free areas as pointed out above.RDA wrote:Similar to Lehigh, it appears they are designed to expand at subsonic velocities.yondering wrote:What's the point of a solid copper bullet for subsonic loads? What's with all the links, instead of just posting here and answering questions in your own thread?Ft Daniel wrote:RDA wrote:Similar to Lehigh, it appears they are designed to expand at subsonic velocities.yondering wrote:What's the point of a solid copper bullet for subsonic loads? Got it, I hadn't seen the solid ones, I only noticed the expanding and segmenting like Lehigh.yondering wrote:Not the solid bullets. its amazing how many people do not understand this concept. they really think they want something to pass through undamaged what so ever and continue on to hit unintended targets.yondering wrote:What's the point of a solid copper bullet for subsonic loads?
