Thanks Robert.

The lack of noise from the 9" AAC upper with a 762SD can and 220 grain Corbon 300 Whisper ammo was IMPRESSIVE! It will be exciting to hear it with the 762SD next year.

Did it work with Cor-Bon 220 grain 300 Whisper(R) ammo?

Did it feed?

Did it cycle/eject?

I have a box but never tried it.

Robert,

Did it work with Cor-Bon 220 grain 300 Whisper(R) ammo? - YES, both 220 and 150 Cor-Bon 300 Whisper ammo. I got one box of each with the upper and I will not buy anymore (way too expensive). I need my Forster dies.

Did it feed? - YES, both 220 and 150 Cor-Bon 300 Whisper ammo

Did it cycle/eject? - YES, gun was about 4.5' off the ground when fired parallel to the ground and brass landed about 6-8 feet to the left and about 8 or more feet rearward and in a relatively close pile. I can only say relatively close as we picked up the brass every couple of shots to help keep from losing any of it. Upper was complete AAC 300 BLK 9" upper, lower was factory LMT full auto lower. Buffer was either factory LMT or a LaFrance unit I got from Tim when he sold out his inventory. I can check if you are curious.

I have a box but never tried it. - I only tried it because it came with the upper and I needed to sight in the Aimpoint prior to testing these rounds on feral hogs/wild boars in OK coming up soon. I got 200 rounds of the 110gr 30 SBR bullets from Barnes this week and will load them up in LC 556 cases once my dies from Forster arrive. If I am fortunate enough to have any of these rounds hit hogs, I will post a "post mortum" with photos and such. After I get my dies, I will try both the 110 SBR Barnes bullets and the 125 Nosler Ballistic Tips and hopefully compare each of them on hogs and deer.

Yes, please post the weight of your buffer and report if you have a normal spring. I like to remove the lower and put it on a scale and push on the buffer until it moves 1mm and read the scale. A normal spring should indicate 5.3 to 6.3 lbs.

Was a silencer on when you shot the 220? Which one?

Did you see the gel tests? I would pick the 110 V-MAX over the 125 Nosler for a 9 inch barrel even for hunting. Impact from your 9 inch barrel will be at a lower velocity than in the gel tests, so penetration should be more than the 12 inches of the gel test.

I will try the 110 V-MAX's. What would you prefer in the 16" version? I will read through the gel tests.

For lead bullets, still the 110 V-MAX if you are further away or want it for lighter skinned animals or self defense. For tough animals, perhaps Nosler or Sierra game King.

Barnes 110 SBR for 16 inch hunting where you need to go deep and have the bullet not blow apart.

I can't wait to see your results. We should have a hunting contest next year.

Thanks for the info! I will post details after we hunt. Hopefully, we won't get skunked.

Thanks,
Darin
