Adds on this site beginning to be burdensome

Post by hardcase »

I realize we need advertising but whoever owns this site is beginning to be extreme. I can tolerate advertising at the top but having numerous, non-gun related advertising in the middle of a thread is to much.

I'm getting ads in Spanish, for watch bands, and model cars.

I promise I have not shopped for what I am seeing.

1. I have tracking turned off.

2. I have cookies turned off.

While I'm not against ads that help pay for the fees and site, it is pretty bad having them at the top of the page, below the first post, all at the same time.

ok ya - if you have tracking turned off and cookies disabled, its just sending you whatever the heck then.

from how i understand it there are multiple pricing tiers that you can buy - targeted advertising (based on tracking cookie stuff) and everything else. Advertisers pay a premium (either per click or per impression) for targeted advertising. you're getting the 'give us whatever's cheapest and we'll hope for the best' advertising then.

turn on a few cookies, and go browse a few gun stores - at least then the ad's will improve :)

All I know is:

used to like 300BlkTalk; now, don't like 300BlkTalk.

Site hits from Boomer have dropped precipitously. Just can't sort content from ad any more. Sorry.
