Seems like once a week I see a story like this.

What's up with cops shooting themselves in the leg with their GLOCKs?

I have personally witnessed this happen with a glock. the guy who had the discharge is an extended family member of my wifes . hisself and a couple of other leo types decided to open up a tactical training school and envited me to come out and shoot there course . So the day we were to shoot ended up with a high temp of around 20 degrees and the shooter had on a pull over that has the draw string on the bottom and the button that catches the string to lod it tight . he went to holster his glock and the stupid little bean button got hung in the trigger guard and caused a discharge . it was canted enough that it missed his leg and the bullet went into the dirt between him and the guy standing behind him . I picked up my toys and went home and as a side note they are no longer in buisness , not because of the discharge but due to poor buisness practice and improper actions while on duty.
I mean no disrespect to law enforcement but I have been around alot who have trouble unloadling there own fire arms much less one they confiscate off the street.

Sounds like it was ball ammo too (he's lucky).
This story will never compare to the video of that cop shooting himself in the leg on video while giving a gun safety speech at a school. I wish that YouTube would play at work; I need a good laugh today.

Anyway... The grip safety on the Springfield XDs was a big selling point for me. I'm usually carrying IWB in street clothes and I alter my grip when holstering to allow to the grip safety to engage. Just some extra piece of mind...

No better place for a guy who keeps shooting himself than behind a desk!!!

But damn he is the chief of Police, he needs to be held to an even higher standard than a normal cop should be. He is a very bad example as a leader, there isn't a chance in heck I could have any respect for that Barney Fife goober.
