What about a Browning BLR 223 takedown with a 308 forend. Can the two just be screwed together?
I called Browning tech support to see if the two could be mated.
They didn't know if you could put the 223 and the 308 together.
I like the idea of having the 223 and the option to just put the 300blk barrel on, just by screwing the two together.
I don't have the gun yet, so I don't know. I like the lever action, so that no shell is ejected until you decide.
Of course a threaded barrel version. What a takedown without the noise and commotion of a shell ejection.

I keep hoping you'll have pics for us! What's the status of your project? Any new info on interchangeability?

I have a .223 in stainless which I had the muzzle threaded 1/2X28. It's a riot.

The only way to convert it to 300 Blackout is to have the .223 barrel BORED OUT and RELINED with a .30 cal liner of appropriate twist and then chambered correctly. There is a company who does such work for approx $300. But the don't have the reamer. And I was concerned they might not do it aligned with the center of the barrel which would make threading impossible. Also isn't really enough meat to cut 5/8X24 threads unless you SBR.

Really a no go. But the .223 version threaded is fun.
