.22 rifle

Post by rockrivershooter »

Im wanting to purchase my son a .22 rifle im wanting a good reliable rifle that's kinda like the Remington 700 meaning there is plenty of accessories so we can make it his own and not something everyone else has. So what's the most popular rifle that is customizable. Also I will eventually suppressing it also. Thanks in advance jonathan.

get him a 10/22, you can get parts for them everywhere and most of them don't require a gunsmith

Seriously, take a long look at the Ruger 10/22. The amount of drop-in accessories out there is just short of amazing...

I even have one of these, although mine is from Calico (no longer made, and gray parkerized finish)

Synthetic stock, scope mount, threaded barrel... the possibilities are endless.

I wish Ruger had been selling bare receivers and bolts 15 years ago, because that's all that's left of the box-stock 10/22 that I used to build by hotrod tackdriver. I've been looking for a photo of it, but can't find one...

Rhinehardt-Fajen thumbhole silhouette stock, K.I.D. trigger group with 1-1/2 lb pull, double-lug receiver mount of my own design, 18" free-floating fluted barrel, bedded action, 8-32x50 target scope, receiver and barrel Ceracoated to match.

It's addictive... once I started tinkering on the thing I couldn't stop. I have well over a thousand bucks in the thing... a .22 . It's crazy.

First off how old is your son? Is this the platform he will be learning on? If you are dead set on getting a semi then a 10/22 or variant of that design . If not then I would get the savage FVSR can't beat the price , accutrigger, 16", threaded. Perfect learning platform and suppressor ready
