I usually do not do much high volume fire. But, when I do, the darn handguard gets too hot to handle on my aluminum handguard guns.
What are you all doing to alleviate this problem?
I am not a fan of verticle handguards, so want to avoid these.

Re: Gripping Hot Handguards
I'm with you on lack of high volume in a short time frame shooting so I really don't deal with hot hand guards all that often. I'd rather use a glove than any vert grip though if I was running into this issue.

I agree swampdog. I've been looking at some silicone/thermoplastic sleeves for handrails and wonder if they are worth it.
Example would be the Manta TAC-Wrap or even a large diameter Bowers suppressor cover over the handguard.
Or, just wear a darn glove!

What about an angled fore grip?
Re: Gripping Hot Handguards
I put rail covers on my pistol and haven't had an issue. Maybe I just don't shoot enough quickly to notice.

Re: Gripping Hot Handguards
I use the Troy squid grip inserts for the mlok handguards . They seem to protect from the barrel heat but allow for air circulation . Not really a mag dump type , I put them on mainly because of the desert sun heating , but I do have three fitted with binary triggers for fast double taps ( quad taps ? ) that I have done an occasional dump with .
