I am a little confused, I used to shoot 7.62 X 25 Tokarev and the bullet didn't look anything like the one you show. It was a inch and a quarter long bottleneck with rounded tip. I shot it out of a CZ52 handgun, that bullet of yours would never fit. That looks more like a 7.62 X 54 rifle round.

Thank goodness for single shots with long throats!Oldhand wrote:I am a little confused, I used to shoot 7.62 X 25 Tokarev and the bullet didn't look anything like the one you show. I think this looks legitimately exquisite. I can't wait to see the results!

I am handloading a variety of rounds for this gem, up to 150 grains or even larger.

Why the Tok instead of 300 blackout?
Just wondering ...

Tok has been around for a while and probably will continue to be. Everybody knows 300 Blackout is just a fad.AR-300 wrote:Why the Tok instead of 300 blackout?

I spent 5+ years of my life working on subsonic load development for the 7.62x25. I was asked by some people to try to figure something out. I might have my notes around here somewhere.
Had one load that was quieter than firing a subsonic 22 out of a 16" barrel and that was without a silencer.

The 7.62x25mm has a smaller case capacity than 300blk. In theory this lets you use a wider selection of powders to find the quietest and more accurate load. .22TCM sub sonic might be really fun too!
It's too cool that you made a sub sonic thumper with the 7.62 tok! I ran into a guy with a .22 tcm ar15 a wile back. I really wish I could get a CZ evo 3s1 in .22tcm or 7.62 tok. Anyway cool stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Here are some dummy round in the Tok that I used to ensure the chamber had a long enough throat.
