Scar 17 accuracy

Both at 100 yards
First image is a typical group for every type of factory ammo I threw at it,everything from ppu to blackhills. Second is some handloads I didn't think were much count because of their performance in a armalite ar10 I had a few years back. The Scar 17 seems to like them though

Shot this group with my SCAR. Factory Hornady Superformance 150SST. This doesn't happen every time
but it does show what's possible when you do everything right.

This 10 shot group was shot with my 20" 6.5 Creedmoor Deadshot Barrel on my Scar 17

The SCAR trigger sucks something fierce and needs to be thrown away. A new trigger, some clear glass and lighter weight bullets go a long way toward better accuracy. This is a battle rifle, not a precision rifle. It has a 1:12 twist barrel. Too slow in my opinion. I shoot the 16" and 20" barreled SCARs.
They shine with a built in adjustable gas block for shooting with a silencer

The Geissele trigger and good glass are major improvements.

Mine seems to be jamming the lands on the 150 hornadays (Amoung others). Will you do a test and see if you get a ring around the ogive when you chamber a round? Don't think it should be doing that but want to know if anyone else's does it too.

Do you have a Sheridan gage?

You can always send me ammo and I can verify with 3 SCAR 17s

We'll do any of them leave a mark on the ogive when you chamber a round?

I've shot DRT Ammo of varying weights, Federal GMM 168 and 175, and varying lots of surplus ammo including new IMI and I have never had any marks on the ogive from a chamber round.

Does it do that to all your bullets?

Yes. Multiple brands of factory ammo.ppu does it the least and blackhills 170 does it the worst.
Thanks for your input. Next step is check to see if it's a short chamber or something that didn't get honed. With my new loads it's shooting better than the pics I posted and no pressure signs so I hate to mess with it.
