I have had this g22 grip sub2000 for some time. It is a cool rifle as it folds and fits in small spaces. It was one of those guns that I planned in keeping forever just to have one.
However I was offered a Marlin 1894c in 357 mag with a JM stamped barrel and pre cross bolt safety. I am a younger guy but I love lever guns and SA revolvers, so I made the trade. It shoots well but needs a new rear sight.
It needs a little work and was wondering what a gun like this would cost to get reblued and stock refinish?

Without pics, you traded away your Sub2000 for nothing.

Nice!
Does it look worse in person? Judging by the pic the finish doesn't look bad enough to refinish.

I think you came out way ahead.
I can't help with the refinishing question though.

Re: Traded away my sub2k
The reciever and barrel has some slight pitting and the furniture shows it was well used. I guess the lighting on the picture doesnt show. I am not concerned with the wood just want the blueing to look better. It works good though, shot some 38 special and 357 through it without a problem.
The rear sight flips up but has no tension to stay up. The same sight to replace it with is pretty cheap.
I have a thing for guns that dont have safeties or "read owners manual" engraved on them. I am happy with the trade either way and feel like this will be a great rifle for my 2 yound kids to shoot one day.

and this is why i couldnt own one of these, my my first thing to do would be get it modded to be threaded
sounds like you got a fun little rifle there!
cant wait to see some pics after you do some work on it.
just thinking out loud, have you considered cerakote'ing it instead of re-bluing it?

Leave it be steven. Worth much more with original finish with pitting. Marlins, real ones like you have there, are carrying a bit of a premium that will only grow with time. Plant, you should be smacked in the head for even suggesting such.
You can't beat the mountain, pilgrim. Mountains got its own way.
Re: Traded away my sub2k
I agree with Rebel, leave it alone and enjoy it. Id love to have one in 44mag.

Eco eco eco.. Don't mess with it. That's a nice little carbine. You did good in that trade.
