Let me start out by sayin that I normally use the search functions, and thoroughly research the stuff I buy, but I'm in a unique situation at this point in time, and absolutely do not have the time to devote to my search, but I need a weapon light for my BO pistol within a week.

So...... I thought I would ask my online family for their recommendations. I know it's been covered a hundred times, but I'm picky, and I'm lookin for certain things.

What I'm lookin for :

A good light (name brand), with 2 to 3 hundred-ish lumens, weapon mountable, preferably with an offset mount, no pressure pad with just ON and OFF. I hate cycling through HI, LOW, STROBE, etc., just to get light. $150.00 or so would be my max.

If anyone knows of such an animal, I would appreciate a link.

Check out varmintlights.com. I got one of their packages that came with white, green and red LED bulbs, two different pressure switches along with the standard switch, and several mounts to choose from. It also came with two rechargeable batteries and a charger. The mounts are a little on the flimsy side but the rest of the contents seem reasonable. I ended up purchasing a different offset mount that was was way more secure and have had no other issues.

I had one of these at one point. It doesn't advertise a bunch of lumens but they are concentrated into a very good spot. It isn't much of a flood light. It was so good that several (7 or people I know had to have one. One could easily kill a pig at 100yds at night with one.

Haven't tried this one but it gets up to the minimum lumens you listed and based on my experience with the other light this I believe it would be an excellent light but I did notice it has two brightness levels and a strobe that one may have to contend with.

i've got a gen1 version of this light back in 2011, mine's only like 250 lumen or so. its still kicking butt. this is it on my 10/22




the brightness adjustment is on the front (like adjusting an AO scope) and the tailcap is the on/off.

its a standard 1" barrel so any scope ring or standard 1" offset for lights will hold it (i've got mine on a scope ring.

an optional tail cap w/ pressure switch is available (and also has a on/off there too)


as an added bonus it can run off a single 18650 LiON rechargeable, or a pair of cr123a's (in a insert sleeve that comes with it)


the one i have is bright enough that its easily viewable at 100 yds for things like critters - and i could probably read stuff with my scope at 75+ yds.

How about a TLR1 or TLR1-HL if you need more light. It has an easy to use switch, push one side for momentary, and the other side for on/off, easily attaches or removes from a rail with no tools, and can be mounted forward on the handguard right at your fingertips.

Inforce APL/WML is what you're looking for. Both their APL and WML are available as constant and momentary. They're lightweight and about $120, I use the APL on my duty gun, and have a WML on my SBR, absolutely fantastic lights. http://www.inforce-mil.com

BTW: I'm using the HSP Horntail mount, also available on the above website. It's very well made and solid, just choose the one that works with your rail system (pic, keymod, etc.).

APL is for pistol, WML is for rifle.

Inforce WMLX, 500 lumens. Got it cheap on amazon and I've been beating it with muzzle blast for a few months now and it is holding up fine.

You won't be disappointed, it's a fantastic light and they are super lightweight, but very durable.
