Re: Vortex 1-6x Strike Eagle
Nice! I haven't been to the range yet. It's been raining, lightning, tornado's, wind, and now it's too dang hot and humid to stay outside for very long. Maybe this week.

Re: Vortex 1-6x Strike Eagle
i think i found the scope for my dad's 300 build. this should work nicely on a 16" rig. really good price point too
Re: Vortex 1-6x Strike Eagle
I would love to try one of these but I would rather have it in MRAD instead of MOA. Im wondering if they will offer it.
Re: Vortex 1-6x Strike Eagle
I've been researching 1-4 and 1-6 power scopes these past few days, and since the Strike Eagle appealed to me despite being an MRAD fan, I called Vortex.farm use wrote:I would love to try one of these but I would rather have it in MRAD instead of MOA. Im wondering if they will offer it.
The gent on the phone said there aren't any plans for MRAD Strike Eagles. It's unfortunate, but thats how it is. He recommended the 1-4 PST due to superior glass and an MRAD option.
I think I will still try the Strike Eagle, since figuring out the BDC is easy enough. I won't have to mess with the MOA adjustments after figuring out what ranges the BDC correspond to.
Re: Vortex 1-6x Strike Eagle
I'm in the same boat looking for a scope for the daughter's 5.56. Would like to get her a 1-6 in mil/mil flavor but at the Strike Eagle's price point it's hard to ignore. At her age I think she would have more success with longer range targets with 6x or I would just buy another Viper PST 1-4.

No matter what you read on the intarweb CCI450s and CCI41s ARE NOT BALLISTICALLY IDENTICAL with H110! I'm also not a intarweb lawyer so I don't argue with anyone who is.

SWFA and OpticsPlanet seem to have it in stock currently, and several places are allowing backorders.
Re: Vortex 1-6x Strike Eagle
Headsup, sportsmansguide has Strike Eagles in stock. If you are already a member, it's like $270 shipped with code sh1633. If you're not, it's $298. You can also get a membership and it'll offset that $298 by $0.30 I think, but still totally worth it!
I just bought one, and I am eagerly looking fwd to it!
P.S. That code expires tomorrow or the next, so don't dilly dally if you want one!

Re: Vortex 1-6x Strike Eagle
I am curious how does a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6X24 RIFLESCOPE in Low Light perform at early sunrise or at sundown when hunting deer? Typically here in Texas, those are conditions when deer move the most. Looking at the optics in a well lit gun store doesn't help much with simulating low light conditions.
