Red dot prism for 300 blk

Post by Firewalker41 »

I have a 10.5 inch DB Ar pistol that I use a Vortex Spitfire AR 1X, and I find it almost perfect for 0 to 150 yards supersonic and 0 to 75 yards subsonic.
Today I tried out my 7.5 inch Psa over a spikes lower, Burris AR 1X prism with the 223 markings below it ranged to 600 yrds.I found zeroed at 50 the supersonic will stay within an inch out to 100 yards. With 190 gr hornady subs the next line marked 400 is right on at 75 yards. The second line below the dot is perfect at 100 yards.
So far this Burris will be my go to dot for out to 200 once I test it at a longer range. It so far has everything I want on a quick accurate hunting sight.

Time will tell,

I just finished my 10" 300blk pistol build. Ended up using a 3x prism scope from Primary Arms. When zeroed as per the manual, the tip of the chevron is zero for 50yd, then its an inch or so high at 100yd, then it falls back to the tip of the chevron for 200yd. I don't plan to take any shots further than that unless it's just plinking. It's been good so far, just a tad on the heavy side.
