I wanted to zero my scope for Remington subsonics at 40 yards. Yesterday this was putting me about 2 inches high at 40 yards for the 110 grain Barnes TTSX. I am just wondering if I can leave my scope shooting 2 inches high at 40 yards and be close enough for deer hunting out to 150 yards.

My other option is to memorize my clicks and turn my elevation turret to what would be zero at 100 yards for the 110 grain supersonics.

My other option is to use one of the lower circles for the subsonics and the main reticle for supersonics.
The online (free) Nikon "Spot On" calculator allows you to input your custom load data and then calculates your drops for that load. It also displays the BDC reticle and the holds for the distance you input. The drops list and reticle graphic can be printed out. The app can also be download to a smart device from bot the Apple iStore or Android Play Store. If you use the Android version, make sure the Android operating system is Android "Froyo" version 2.3 or below, doesn't work on higher versions.

My personal preference is Strelok +, costs less than the Nikon app, works on newer operating systems (Apple & Android) and does everything Spot On does and more, to include declination/inclination using your phones camera. I find it's BDC reticle display for hold is just as accurate as Nikon's app. The Apple version is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

I zeroed mine for the first time this past Saturday. I didn't boresight it, figuring I could just get on paper and dial it in from there. After a few shots I was close and did mine at 50 yards. I'm setting about 1/2" high at 50 yards shooting the Barnes BlackTip. I'm hoping this is sufficient as all of my hunting spots are within 150 yards tops. The one I frequent most often is ranged at 125 yards to the farthest corner. We shall see as this is my first season hunting with the 300.
