When I go to bed a law abiding citizen and wake a felon, by the stroke of the legislative pen, tyranny has arrived.

Meh - what's the worst can happen
Seriously, I don't hunt regular or anything, but if I was even thinking about bear - which can not only kill you, but eat you - I'd spare no expense. Those spendy Outlaw or whatever with the great expansion is what'd be in my rifle and plenty of them, with a backup .44/.357/10MM.
Bears are nothing to play with. Even wounded they've been known to double back and make the hunter the hunted. You may not get a second chance as short distance, so don't skimp.

Hey bud, you want controlled expansion, so you can penetrate that works at BLK velo's. Like Talon, I've seen bear shot with all kinda shit. Maybe a heavy Partition? Thoughts anyone?

For a charging dangerouse game animal you want bone crushing penetration. To stop a charging animal you must destroy the link between the brain and the legs. If shoot a charging animal at 30 paces and you only cause a wound that immobilizes the animal when it bleeds out it will most likely cause some damage before it dies.

Those 194ME's loaded to 12-1300fps should do the trick. I would be behind your daughter with a 458socom as backup, might as well keep the hunt in the AR family, LOL
