Two days ago, bagged a mule deer at 200 yards with a V7 6.5" barrel, Federal copper 120gr rounds, and an ACOG. Perfect hole through the center of the heart, coronary entry wound about .75"-1". Pics to follow.

I actually used a .338 ultra long lapua winchester magnum with guide-by-wire, but had my sherpa carry this SBR for photos. Busted.dellet wrote:

Hard to argue with a hole through the heart at 200. Well done.withoutremorse42 wrote:
Did you happen to recover the bullet?

Are you sure you didn't chase that thing down and bite it death? Judging by that last pic and the amount of blood you have one you, I say that's highly possible.
You can't beat the mountain, pilgrim. Mountains got its own way.

You NC boys are out of touch. The new, expedient way to field dress a deer is to reach through the rectum, grab the internal organs and pull them out. No need to open the chest cavity. Faster and keeps the dirt out.rebel wrote:Are you sure you didn't chase that thing down and bite it death? I'll admit I got the runt of the litter, but I was happy to bag one on opening day for once. Tired of tags going unpunched!DeadRaibead wrote:Where do you get miniature mulies like that?
As per the question, eastern Oregon. Most of the other deer taken by our party were 4x4 with one 4x5 and one fork. I brought it to camp in the dark so it looked bigger
