Michigan opener with the 300 Blk and sierra 135 grain varminter #2124 charged with IMR 4227. 90 yard neck shot thru some pretty thick wooded country and raining heavy all day. I used an ATN X-sight optic so the shot was recorded, need to format it then upload.

Re: Deer Season
It's my 3rd year of hunting. Last year, for those that recall, I got my first doe; blackout, maybe 30 yards. GOOD eating... Even though it was... small...
Well, this year, I put a tree stand in the back yard.. Don't have a huge amount of acreage, BUT, I've got a s-ton of tame deer..
While rifle season just opened, I've already filled my freezer.. 3 does... All with a crossbow - 30 yards or less. Could have had 10... Early on, a herd of 9 would regularly come within 10 yards of the tree stand..
Anyhow, Saturday, I got my first buck. A nice 7 pointer; 35 yard high shoulder hit with the crossbow. Dropped immediately, and then took forever to pass. Getting it mounted, of course. 19", huge neck... It only looks small because I'm 6'4"...

Re: Deer Season
We are having a good season, so far!
Now its not just myself, this is my small group of four guys. Two of us are tagged out on Private land.
The 300AAC is raining supreme! 25/45 also took two, a 280 Rem took one as well.
Got another week and a half before Muzzle loader opens.
