Deer Season

Post by DFWPI »

Who all is hunting with AR style 300 this year? I was out shooting mine this past weekend, about 150 yards at a twig on the pond. Off hand, hitting it on a consistent basis. Haven't had time to get out and shoot any pigs as of yet with it, but looking forward to it this year. I usually get at least 20 pigs a year at the lease, as they are EVERYWHERE.

I'll be slaying a few deer with either my 8 inch or 16 inch ARs. Probably go for the 8 inch with my Silencerco Omega since all my shots seem to be well under 100 yds.

Im gonna run my 8" Blk pistol this year, currently working on a load: Berger 125 gr. HPFB over H110, also loaded up some 208 gr a-max w/ 11.9 gr a1680.

Will be my first year hunting with it, last year i shot a doe at 254 yds with a gunwerks 7mm rem mag 168 vld, left a 3" exit wound but saw no blood for 40-50 yds, found doe 10 yds from first blood. Processed the meat myself bc i didnt want to pay over $200 to have it done here in Wyo. Only have a little left in the freezer now, time to restock hopefully.

It is going to be very hard to do, but after last four or five seasons I am changing to the 25/45 this year for deer duties.... LOVE the 300, just like change (and a little more power at ranges)

Best of luck to all!!
