Interesting color on that one. And yeah, at 170 lbs. it time for the kids or grandkids to get involved.bang for blaster wrote:

Re: 2018 Hunting results
Well heck I may as well post some pics too.
The Ol' Lady took 3 does and 1 crazy horned cull buck with my bolt action 300BLk (bottom pic). This is her first time behind the rifle hunting animals rather than paper. She got the bug to hunt last year after sitting in the stand with me and helping me spot deer and helping me hunt them. She had to get in on the action this year. I'm so proud of her!!!
The top pic was her 4 deer and a doe + about a 50 pound pig my brother shot.
No pics of my deer. I didn't hunt until that evening where I took 4 does but with a 30-06. My 300BLk AR I had planned to hunt with had issues at sight in where something is loose and bullet was hopping around on paper. It didn't have that issue 2 weeks before the trip but something must have happened in transit so I went with my 30-06 I brought as my backup and evening hunting rifle. Always have a back up rifle
Also understand that we hunt on MLD-3 hunting properties in Tx so we use the property's tags and that is why we can kill so many deer, and we just meat hunt so we kill the ones they want removed from the land for our meat haul. Everyone wins
My full hunting post is here if anyone cares to get all the details: viewtopic.php?f=145&t=102516

Nice little Texas Hill Country buck. Was an 8 before the rut, now a 6.
Gold dot, 2170 MV. Approx 90 yards.

For a change of pace, I picked up this 8 point in Louisiana with my .308. He was a tad younger then optimum, but the shot was in the last minute of legal shooting time on the last day of my hunt. The rain of the past week is evident, he was shot crossing a plowed field and was a bear to get out!

Very nice.
Rain rain and more rain here kept me from seeing any during season here.

Yep, its ABOUT over, but not quite!!tallburnedmidget wrote:Nice work on the kills guys!

I have to go back to Louisiana next week which is the last week of regular rifle season. Would like to take a nice doe and if weather cooperates, I may get the chance. The end of rifle season there is followed by the "primitive" rifle season for another 10 days. Not that I have used a "primitive" rifle, but their definition
is different to say the least!
