Thanks for the insight. My reading up on the subject has mixed reviews about all hunted sheep but it seems that repeatedly people say the short haired native to TX/US sheep are good to eat but the long haired imported ones are bad. But not real definite statements like the one you make about your mouflon. This hog I just shot has been taaaaaaaaaaaaaaasty!!!

I just joined the forum. I recently finished building my 300 blk AR (16" barrel rifle config) and am doing so research to get it ready to hunt.

You post was very informative and got me very excited to take my 300 out hunting. Thank you for the great info and the inspiration from your very successful hunt!
I am pumped and can't wait to learn more and get out there! 8)

Hi and welcome!

This is my 2nd year of hunting with the 300BLK and I have taken 9-10 animals all being whitetail with the exception of one hog so I have dove into hunting with it.
If you are thinking of subsonic hunting be sure to read this post and all of the content in it:

Also I have more super and sub hunting info from last year posted here:

This is great information. Thank you for taking the time to write up that AAR. Hopefully the projectile manufacturers will work up more projectiles for 300BLK applications.

No problem, just trying to help others learn from my mistakes and my experiences :)

I now will not be buying any beef for the rest of the year unless it is steaks or something marked down.
