nolwark76 wrote:What factory ammo out there loads Speer 125 TNTs? I hand load but would be very interested in a box or two. My 16" AAC upper should be here soon and it will wear a low power scope. This would be much cheaper with better performance on game than 125 smks I assume.
From what I've seen, there ISN'T factory ammo loaded with Speer 125gr TNT's. Unless you consider "Remanufactured" or PNW Arms...

Hornady 300 Whisper VMax (Hornady 110gr VMAX)
Barnes VOR-TX (Barnes 110gr Tac-TX #30321)
Remington Premier Match (Sierra 125gr Matchking OTM)
Remington Hog Hammer (Barnes 130gr TSX)
Remington Subsonic (Sierra 220gr Matchking)
Hornady 300 Whisper (Hornady 208gr AMax)
Gemtech 187gr Subsonic (polymer-tipped bullet, unknown)

Remington 115gr (DISCONTINUED) (what bullet did Remington use?)

The Hornady 110gr VMax can be had from Powder Valley for $19.89 for 20rds (in stock).

All of these were killed with 125 grain TNT handloads (17.8 gr of W296 powder at 2,205 fps) at ranges from 50 to 175 yards. All had complete pass throughs and not a whole lot of meat damage. My rifle is a Hardened Arms upper with 16" stainless barrel.

I think the TNT is a great round for hogs. I'd like to see what it would do on deer.

Good info. and footage,I have a lot of 125TNT's,we'll be hunting deer the end of September (land owner and youth hunt). We get good accuracy and the price is reasonable, what's not to like? These will be our go to bullet in the 300BLK.I like the group effort, looks like everyone had a good time, well done sir.

So far so good. Ranges have all been 100 yards or less. Looks like they have all been pass throughs with the exception of the really big boar.

How was your expansion from the 9" running under 1800FPS with the 125 TNT?

I'm loading with LilGun or H110 from a 8.25" Unsuppressed.

Jeff
Guns are tools designed for dirty work both competitive and defensive. If I meet someone with a well worn gun, I hope their barrel is pointed the same direction as mine if the lead starts flying...

I'm seeing expansion at all exit locations. Hard to quantify how much. I'll try and get a shot that I know will not exit.
