Omega released from jail!

Post by willisjf07 »

After a 5 month wait from start to finish, went pending 3/2...I was able to pick it up this past weekend and put a few rounds through it.....I'm very pleased with my first suppressor purchase!

Are you using the direct thread mount on your AR?

Yes, I prefer the under the rail look so that was my only option with the Omega....but I'm fine with that! My AR is the only gun I plan to use the direct thread mount with so I currently have the direct thread mount semi-permanently attached to the barrel so I can unscrew the suppressor from the mount, then screw onto the qd adapter. Sort of saves me a step and I don't see any issue with that process......someone feel free to correct me if my thinking is off on that....

I was talking to a guy that had a setup like that until a friend of his had a baffle strike. Now he thinks it's a good idea to not have his hand so close to the muzzle.

I like the look though.

Is a baffle strike going to ricochet back to his hand? Isn't that magpul thingy supposed to be where you hold the reigns for a wild ride :P

I well remember an uncle shooting out of the rear window at a jack rabbit with a long barrel colt single action 22lr in the late 50's. Long story short, dead bloody rabbit, cussing and bloody forearm rest. If I recall, a handkerchief and several slugs of adult beverage remedied the situation.

So how is it? Any other suppressors to compare it too?
