plant is giving general advice, much as I do when I don't know the knowledge of the OP. He will obtain success faster with those weights and once success is achieved, one can move on to lighter subs and the silly world of coal and powder charges

ya he said he's not expierenced with reloading blackout, which for someone just getting started why not point them in the path of least resistance to start with.
once they get their feet wet and find out if they need anything else, or just want to tinker, then they can really expand their horizons based on the successes they've had.
it just like telling folks to use a standard carbine spring and buffer with a carbine gas upper. might as well start with the widest known success points and work from there.

In general it is easier to get the heavier subs to be subsonic more accurately with the available powders while cycling in the AR platform. The lighter the bullet, the more difficult it is to accomplish.steven11b wrote:Just wondering why the 200-220gr and not say down to 190?plant.one wrote:
for subsonic stick with 200-220 grain bullets - powder coated is fine, jacketed works well too.
