Nice write up, I just loaded up the same recipe however I went with the hornady book and did 2.250 OAL, any reason you went lower? I will be shooting through I 9" SBR
Re: 208gr Hornady A-Max A1680 with 8" Barrel Chrono results
No special reason. I got the OAL from a previous poster on this forum in the BLK Recipe thread so since this is the first load I've ever made, I stuck with itvandy58 wrote:Nice write up, I just loaded up the same recipe however I went with the hornady book and did 2.250 OAL, any reason you went lower? 2.120 for best feeding. You MAY have feed issues that long, you may not.vandy58 wrote:Nice write up, I just loaded up the same recipe however I went with the hornady book and did 2.250 OAL, any reason you went lower? I will be shooting through I 9" SBR

Did you get the 1x8 or 1x7 KAK barrel?

Your low load was way too hot in a 9.5" barrel for 208s. Good start but more testing to do. The added suppressor didn't help either. Thanks for the starting point.

What velocity were you getting and with what load? Hard to believe that a 1.5" longer barrel would make much difference.elitejake wrote:Your low load was way too hot in a 9.5" barrel for 208s. Good start but more testing to do. The added suppressor didn't help either. Thanks for the starting point.
