90 gr Hornady XTP Load Data
Found a few boxes of these in stock. Thinking bout loading some Subs up. Wondering bout accuracy and C.O.L ? Load I found used Trail Boss anybody used any other powder? Thanks
Re: 90 gr Hornady XTP Load Data
I have used them with Trailboss. It works well, and is fairly quiet.
I had them seated at 1.665". POI was pretty muh the same as my 220 gr. SMK load, which was nice. I was getting a little over an inch at 100 yds. from a 10" Contender.

Ok.... Im confused
Why load a ultra light bullet at subsonic velocity? If i can run any bullet weight i want but the vel threshold is around 1000fps. Whats the benefit of a 90gn pill over a 220?
Serious question. Just trying to learn as much as i can

Midway had them for about 15¢ a bullet last month. So for dirt cheap you get a super quiet JHP that'll actually expand at 1000 fps to use for small game, plinking, or varmints. Lots of fun in a single shot, I'm sure.Sharkbite wrote:Ok.... Im confused

Has to be out of a bolt or break action though.. Won't cycle in an ar.

Ahhh. Now it makes sense.
Re: 90 gr Hornady XTP Load Data
And add to that, the XTPs are so much more accurate than the surplus 147 gr. JHPs I've tried playing with for a cheap plinking round.17-Shooter wrote: Midway had them for about 15¢ a bullet last month.
