247 grain sub load help! updated question

Post by badguybuster »

I recently purchased a bunch of 247 lead sleds from another member here. I wanted to find some subsonic loads. The powders I have on hand are unique, h110, RL7, and 4198. I would like to stick with one of those since powders are hard to get here. All I keep finding are for whisper. Any help would be appreciated. I am lubing with liquid alox.

update:
Ok..so, the rounds are chambering fine, shooting great but if I chamber one and do not shoot it. It is hard as hell to get the charging handle to eject it. And when it does eject there are marks on the bullet. So is it hitting the rifling? OAL is 2.18

Bolt gun?
AR15?

I wasn't able to get my 16" AR15 carbine gas to cycle with that powder even when pushing the 247s to 1200fps. I haven't done further testing though after I opened the port to .125"

9.5grs .....989fps ave

10.5grs.....1069fps ave

But your 10.5" will differ some fps and should cycle with no problems in your pistol gas.

I'm gonna assume that you don't have a chrony ?????
