Will 110grain carbine bullets run?
I just got 100 on the cheap. Has anyone tried these, any load data?
Re: Will 110grain carbine bullets run?
I loaded some Sierra 110 gr HP 1.965 OAL...19.4 gr H110...they cycled...accuracy sucked...abandoned after 15 rounds. Maybe I didn't take enough time working the load up.

in an AR, never got them to feed properly. way too short, and round nose = bad for AR

Single shot plinking only
Re: Will 110grain carbine bullets run?
I tested a magazine of 10 rounds. 110 grain carbine soft points. Fed and extracted just fine until the 10th round. It nose dived and the soft point hung up on the feed ramp.
I suspect it would have worked just fine had it been a FMJ.
I'm going to try again in a different mag and see if the final round will feed.
Try it before you give up on the idea.

tried plenty. different magazines, different OALs, every variation under the sun. would feed maybe 4 or 5 if you were lucky, then get nosedives in the magazine or hangups on feed ramp.
bottom line, far too short and round nose. either on its own would be unreliable in AR. combine both for 10 times unreliable.
good for bolt action or single shot only.
also, when they did feed and shoot they were pretty miserable accuracy wise.
couldn't get rid of them fast enough.
