Has any one ever thought of cramming a 9mm bullet into a 5.56 brass? I've seen 9mm uppers and 9mm ammo brass is very close to 5.56 brass in diamitore? Like a said just a thought.

Just tried cramming a 9mm DPX into a cut case. And it did go in but the case would need to be full length formed up to match the diamitore of the 9mm. It is possible. I'm thinking 9mm supermax!

Why would you want to do that with 9mm once fired brass so cheap?

A similar cartridge was called the " 9mm Winchester Magnum". It is now obsolete.
It fired an 115g bullet at about 1450fps. (A 300 Blackout fires a 115g bullet at 2000+ fps.)

Comparing the cartridges, the 5.56 case is smaller at both the head and shoulder so it would not be practical to use it with a 9mm bullet.
However, you could probably neck up the 6.8mm Rem SPC to hold a 9mm bullet.
