tc encore barrel , so no gas tube or cycling ... just looking for a good recipe for accurate and quiet , subsonic .. 247's .. i'll get what ever powder i need !Maryland_Shooter wrote:Powder? anyone with load data , care to share ?
thank you!!!
45r..
thanks for that recipe , i'll keep it in mind as well.. I don't have any RL7 at the moment .. but if this turns out as the best combo , i'll get some.
I already have some vita n110 .. i'm wondering if it would be a good choice as well .. maybe lil gun ? , titegroup ? etc ... looking for options !

N110 is my choice for supersonic loads with 110 - 147 grain projectiles.
For subsonic loads, I like fill the case as much as possible for consistency.
A1680 has worked well for me on my sub loads.
Will RE7 generate enough gas to operate an AR?

Yes,it will cycle a carbine.I imagine it would cycle a SBR also.I got around 1 inch at 50 yards.Dr.Phil wrote:N110 is my choice for supersonic loads with 110 - 147 grain projectiles.

I like 1680 for condum bullets but RE-7 works better for cast to me.
RE-7 is a very popular powder for cast bullets.
My BG loves it.
I couldn't find any powder or other cast bullet to outshoot the NOE 247 with RE-7.
I tried hard with my BG but 1 inch at 100 is hard to beat.
I couldn't get any other bullets to feed as well either in my Rem BG.
I've become real happy with Lancer 20 round mags for AR in 300BLK.
I file the top few inches of the rib down a little and run any COL I want with no problems so far.
Re: will 1/8 twist stabilize 247 bison bullits
Thanks for the info!
I'll pick up a couple pounds when I place my next powder order.
Now if I could just get the damn NOE 247s to feed reliably...

I seat mine to 2.225 and lightly crimp in the groove.
No problems with polymer mags with ribs filed down.

Re: will 1/8 twist stabilize 247 bison bullits
If it helps at all, I seated the MBC 245g lead at 2.155 initially and now run it down to 2.130 with a medium/heavy crimp. I have maybe a 10% feed issue at 2.155 and none so far at 2.130, but haven't really run enough to say I have it solved, though it looks promising.
Just remember AAC suggests 2.120 for optimum feeding and they did a lot of testing, so keep that in mind.

Re: will 1/8 twist stabilize 247 bison bullits
well , my lead bullets showed up last night and they seem to weigh around 238 to 239 grains on average ...
these came from missouri bullet co .. they were ordered months ago ... i found some lil gun , and tite group powder ...
if anyone feels like offering a recipe for lead bullet subsonic .. (16" barrel TC) feel free to respond to this post ..
i'm going to try to get some rl7 as well to test ...
as it stands they extended the backorder on the bergaga barrel,so i don't have a barrel to shoot yet ..
this gives me more time to find the powder....
thanks !
