New to reloading.
Still collecting materials as well as knowledge. I haven't actually loaded anything yet. I have a good press, and plenty of brass.
Plan is to use 1680 or Shooters World 300 powder for subs. However, I can't find a consistent supply of CCI #41's. I can find CCI #400 everywhere.
Is there any safety reason not to use 400's?
Is there any reason to think they will be inconsistent when shooting?
Are they okay for Subs and Supers?
Are they good for .223 as well?
i've been using cci 400's in ar's since i started reloading.
i've not had any problem with them so far.
just do your load work up like normal and you should be good to go.

Yup. CCI 400s are GTG.
So for your questions that is no, no, yes, and yes.
I've always believed the CCI 41s are a little hotter but I have no real proof. The 41s are all I ever used and they worked fine. I've seen no differences in the two in accuracy of any of the loads I shoot.
I think CCI says the 41s are magnums, like 450s but with thicker cups. I find them to be much harder to seat without deforming, and as I keep my rifle clean I'm not worried enough about slamfires to use them. No issues with 400s or BR4s. I've even got some Alcans laying around, and they're made from tinfoil, no issues in the AR. There must have been a slamfire once, in the 60s, and how we all have to use 41s or we'll die. I will admit, slamfires will scare the crap out of you, my super dirty back in the day SKS did one. By shear luck I had it pointed down range (we were dumb, young, and un trained) and no one got hurt.
