I'd like to bump this thread up also. I just managed to get an 8lb canister of this powder. Yay Brownells!
Anybody else running this powder? I'm particularly interested in 16" AR15 numbers and pressure numbers if anyone has acquired the data. Anyone trying CCI450 primers? Federal 205 Match? I'll be getting my Lee 235grn mold in a few days also.

300 BLACKOUT LOAD DATA

BULLET BULLET CASE PRIMER POWDER CHARGE VELOCITY
WEIGHT (GR.) (FPS)
(CR.)

HORNADY SST 180 Hor. WSR Lil'Gun 15.0 1,720
Is this load used in an AR platform? My reason for asking is the Hornady 9th lists 13.5gr of LilGun as MAX for the 180gr SST. I tried 13gr of LilGun and bolt wouldn't cycle, eject or feed next round. I was getting just barely over 1400fps. I switched to a1680 did a work up and found that 18gr chrony'd at 1700fps and all was well. Problem being 18gr of A1680 is a lot of powder for that long projectile.

I too have Sierra MatchKing 125gr bullets and lots of Pro 300MP. Bumping this thread along a bit.

I like to use 300-MP like so.

125 SMK #2121 @ 17.5gr COL 2.173
150 SPH #2130 @ 16.0gr COL 2.100
180 SPH #2150 @ 14.0gr COL 2.100

Using it in all my 300BLK AR15 rifles w/no Suppressor.
These are the most accurate "keep it simple" powder loads with 300-MP for my rifles.

I guess I should add a disclaimer. Please start with a minimum PUBLISHED load.

EDITED 2/12/14.........Here is a site with published loads using 296 & H110.

Besides being a bit long on the COL, this does not create enough pressure to cycle in an AR platform, right?

There's some 300MP at my local gun store too. Didn't know you could use it for blackout. Now im definitely curious.

Power Pro 300-MP powder was the only powder I could find when I started out for the 300BO, so I have a few pounds coming and will be trying different loads in the near future. I also have a bunch of 147gn m-80's that I will use as a plinking/range round.

My first loads were loaded to a COAL of 2.150, no crimp, R-P cases, Tula K223 primers with individually weighed 147gn fmjs.
It is cold and overcast, so no chrony was used and these first rounds were to see how they functioned in MY rifle. I don't suggest you copy anyone's loads exactly, but start low and work up. My rifle is no name upper with a 16" wilson, 1/8 twist.

Anyway, my first rounds were at 17.0gns, no pressure signs, functioned well, I also tried 17.2 and 17.5 again no pressure signs, ejection and function all normal. At 25yards, you could cover all 3 loads with a quarter.

Note, outside air was about 35F.

As time permits, I will be pushing up to first signs of pressure....hard extraction, flattened primers, extractor marks and then drop .03 to .05 grains and then work up accuracy. When the sun comes out, I will get some chrono data.

Good Luck and Be safe!!
