Hornady 150Gr SP - Hornady 3031

Post by TXCATFISHGUIDE »

Got a big load of these from the Hornady mail in deal. Looking for a good plinking load for the blackout, preferably with H-110 or RL7.

Anybody got any good working load data on these?

I have a box of these as well. I tried 16.2 gr and 16.5 gr of H110, crimped and no crimp. Primers were flattening just a bit, but the biggest problem I had was having the spent case not make its way completely out before another round was being picked up (if that makes sense). It was happening on every 2nd or 3rd round. Bolt was locking after last round which was good tho...

I've read a good amount of info that Lil Gun is a better choice of powder for a heavier projectile. I loaded 20 today with Lil Gun, 16.0-16.6gr in increments of .2, no crimp, OAL of 2.120. Will report back later this week or early next week when I get to test them out.

I have used 16.0 grs of Lil Gun with good results . and also RL-7 ,I used a whole case full in RP brass 18.5 gr was all I could get in it.. Accuracy was decent with both .
